Therapy can be beneficial for a range of challenges and individual interests. After an initial intake session, we will work together to develop a plan for treatment based on your specific goals. My approach includes identification of helpful and unhelpful patterns of thoughts and behaviors, exploration of the root of specific patterns, discussion of coping skills, and practice of mindfulness and relaxation techniques to improve overall well-being and happiness.
Depression is one of the most difficult emotions that we can experience, and many individuals do experience it at some point. Depression can have an impact on a number of life domains, including health and relationships. In our time together, we will explore the cycle of the depression,
behavior activation, and coping skills.
It is natural to experience anxiety on some level, but sometimes the amount of distress from anxiety can get in the way of being able to live life fully, impacting relationships, performance, and experiences. We will explore past experiences of anxiety and plan for anxious moments, practicing mindfulness activities and relaxation techniques.
Having healthy relationships is one of the foundations of a fulfilling life. Still, relationships can be hard. Whether it be a friendship, family relationship, or a romantic relationship, all of them take effort. We will consider communication styles and conflict resolution, working to improve the quality of your relationships.
Our attachment to our primary caregivers impacts our sense of self and our ability and desire to connect with others, setting the tone for our future relationships.
We will explore the impact your earliest relationships and make connections to current challenges you may be facing.
Transitions are a part of life. Some are more stressful than others. Many folks can benefit from having the space to process challenges of a particular transition, whether it be starting a new job, going to school, coming out of school, starting a business, moving, or just "adulting."
Raising children is an important job. Looking after yourself helps you show up in the way you would like. We will process stressors related to parenting, consider lessons learned from personal experiences during childhood, and consider the influence of these experiences on your parenting style.
